Why the Area Page Actually Matters

Most tree companies publish a list of towns and call it a service area. The reason we write a real page for each one is that the job genuinely changes across this region — and so do the rules.

The permit rules are not the same everywhere. Kanata, Nepean, Barrhaven, Orléans, Gloucester and Stittsville are all inside the City of Ottawa, where Tree Protection By-law 2020-340 applies: a private tree 30 cm or more in diameter at breast height inside the urban area needs a distinctive-tree permit before removal on lots of one hectare or less, with fines running from $500 to $100,000. Kemptville is in North Grenville. Arnprior is in Renfrew County. Rockland is in Clarence-Rockland. Ottawa’s by-law does not apply to any of those three — they have their own rules. A contractor who quotes you Ottawa permit rules in Kemptville has not checked.

The trees are not the same either. Beaverbrook in Kanata was planted in one go in the late 1960s, so a whole neighbourhood is ageing out at once. Barrhaven sits on heavy marine clay where trees root shallow and tip whole rather than shedding limbs. Rockland is sandy, so stump backfill settles more. Arnprior gets river wind on weak-wooded silver maple and willow. Gloucester’s ravine lots mean hand-carrying brush uphill.

One Owner, Every Job, Across the Whole Region

Whichever town you are in, the arrangement is the same: Max quotes the job himself and is on site for the work. Nothing gets handed to a subcontractor, and nobody who has never seen your property sets the price.

Tree work is quoted in person, because judging a tree from a photo is guessing. Max comes out to look, and your priced quote follows within 48 hours of that consultation. Stumps are the exception — send a photo with something in frame for scale and you get a firm number back the same day. Either way the quote is free and no-obligation, and our goal is to respond within 24 hours. Storm damage and hazardous trees move to the front of the schedule.

Not sure whether you are inside the area? Ask — the honest answer is usually yes, and if it is not, we will tell you rather than pricing in a long drive.
